From our experience and research we know this is normal in a community that welcomes diverse perspectives.
We design and implement, with our colleagues and partners, key initiatives and infrastructure to address
clinical, organizational and social ethics dilemmas. We offer tailored consultation, education, policy
review and ethics improvement initiatives that provide a path forward, respecting the values at stake,
while reducing or mitigating conflict and moral distress. Our signature initiatives build capacity in
the areas detailed below.
Key Programs

Clinical Ethics Intensive
Offering high-intensity virtual training on practical aspects of clinical ethics for clinical ethics
consultants at CommonSpirit Health ministries. Participants review skills and tools to use in clinical
ethics consults and test those skills in five role play sessions that simulate clinical ethics consults.

Ethics Discernment Framework
The CommonSpirit Ethics Discernment Framework is a standard deliberative process and spiritual
exercise for leaders, Executive Teams, and Boards to use when making decisions.

Ethics Internship
The CommonSpirit Health Virtual Ethics Internship provides an opportunity to build practical experience
and familiarity with health care ethics in a health system. This remote opportunity allows Ethics Interns
to share their experience in our $30B organization and possibly gain university credits.

EthicsLab Podcast
The EthicsLab Podcast explores current health care ethics issues with national experts to provide better
knowledge and practical results. Join us as we work to enable health care professionals and community
leaders to deliver the best possible health care experience.

The EthicsLab Essentials Podcast provides AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ health care ethics education
