Ever-present God, I feel so far from you.

I know you are there and yet my arms don’t quite reach.

I sense you are watching,

but my eyes can’t make out your shape.

I cry out and I can’t hear your words of comfort.

Draw near to me; draw me near to you.

Preserve my faith in the midst of uncertainty

and assure me of your faithfulness.

Hear my prayer and hold me in your care.
