when we find ourselves in darkness,

it is difficult to hope.

But then we see a distant flicker of light,

and a tinge of hopefulness opens up new paths.

Show us new pathways of compassion and lovingkindness.

Bring hope and faith in times of despair.

Reconcile and restore

with your gentle but powerful

presence and love.
