A prayer of lament
Prayer Theme: Suffering
Divine God, hear my pain.
I pound my fists in frustration
about what I’m going through.
Why me? Why those I love?
Why this particular suffering?
Embrace me in all my tears,
woundedness, and anger.
Love me through my worry
and disbelief and uncertainty.
Assure me of your constant presence
and complete acceptance.
You know all of who I am.
Thank you for welcoming all of who I am.
Amen.
