Vocation

This 2-minute video from the Catholic Health Association Formation Team provides a high level overview of the concept of "vocation" or "calling" -- and why it is important to each one of us and our work in the health care.

Tradition

This 2-minute video traces the roots of Catholic health care all the way back to the healing ministry of Jesus, now manifested in our opportunity to do what he did for the sake of human dignity and the common good. Our traditions are not just stories of the past; they live in the actions we take today.

Spirituality

This 2-minute video offers a foundational definition of spirituality and then explains the distinctiveness of Catholic spirituality within that framework. When we view every encounter as sacred, we have a daily opportunity to bring God’s grace into this world.

Catholic Social Teaching

In less than 1½ minutes, this video illustrates how Catholic Social Teaching is just a more formal way of expressing our shared responsibility to individual and group well-being. Much of what we already do is simply putting Catholic Social Teaching into action.

Ethics

This 1½ minute video offers a simple and straightforward working definition of the word ethics, then elaborates on some of the kinds of ethical thinking we need to engage in as a Catholic healthcare ministry. Our ethical framework helps us answer challenging questions.

Discernment

This 2-minute video illuminates the difference between decision making and discernment, and the key role of discernment in Catholic Healthcare. Bringing God’s healing presence into the world must, by definition, include bringing God into the big decisions.
