Sustainable Practices for Medical Devices

Diversified forms of production impacting less on the environment can prove very profitable. (Laudato Si 191)

We are committed to preserving our natural resources by reusing products through Medical Device Reprocessing Programs, led by Supply Chain in partnership with clinicians throughout our ministry. In just one year, these sustainable practices diverted more than 270 tons of waste from our landfills. Our reprocessing programs collected more than 600,000 medical devices that were cleaned, calibrated and re-sterilized for reuse. This partnership also sponsors the planting of nearly 6,000 trees in our national forests to further minimize our footprint on the environment.
